Yesterday, on the anniversary of St. Edmund’s day, Greene King opened their new St Edmund Brewhouse. The St Edmund Brewhouse will allow them to be more flexible in their approach to brewing than ever before, and provide a great innovation platform on which they can continue to develop great beers. The Brewhouse allows them to produce small quantities (30 barrells at a time) of beer.

In particular, the focus of the day was on Greene King’s new range of speciality craft beers, including the Double Hop Monster – a 7.2% abv IPA, cheapambienpriceonline.com that is bursting with aromatic hop character and a refreshingly bitter finish as well as the St Edmund’s Anniversary Ale – a 6.0% abv fresh Golden Beer with a citrus finish.

Greene King plan to to use their new ‘mini-brewery’ to continue leading innovation in the Beer category. Whilst the Beer category as a whole is in decline, Speciality Craft Beers are seeing rapid growth and renewed interest from younger consumers.

The brand new enchanting and mysterious red wine, on sale now at all major retailers

Wine aisles across the UK are now getting a touch of the dark side with bold new Apothic Red, perfect for enchanting evenings in, or to add an extra level of sophistication to any occasion.

Named after a mysterious place, Apotheca, where vintners stored their most coveted concoctions in 13th century Europe, Apothic Red blends Old World intrigue with modern sophistication. Its distinctive character makes Apothic Red stand out from the rest, not only because of its iconic black label and mysterious red logo, but because of its truly unique and captivating taste.

Capturing and blending brambly, fruity flavours of Zinfandel and the soft mouthfeel of Merlot, layered with elegant blueberry notes of Syrah, supported by bold dark notes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Apothic Red temptingly reveals intense aromas of rhubarb and black cherry, complemented by hints of mocha, chocolate, oak and vanilla.

Each lingering mouthful is velvety, and plush and the smooth finish rounds out this intriguing full-bodied blend making it the perfect red wine indulgence. A true original with an ABV of 13%, Apothic Red is THE sophisticated wine choice.

The beautifully blended red wine has already taken Canada and the US by storm, and its mysterious touch is set to do the same in the UK – and at a RRP of £9.99 it’s a sophisticated wine choice at an affordable price.

For over a century Chivas Regal has been famous the world over for its whiskey. At its heart is a extraordinary selection of malt whiskies, including Strath Isla, forom the oldest operating distillery in the highlands.

Every drop of whisky must mature for a minimum of 12 years to earn its place in Chivas Regal. The result is a rich and generous whisky with honey and hazelnut notes and a long creamy finish.

This year Chivas Regal have commissioned a limited edition tin from the world

famous Savile Row Suit designer Patrik Grant from Norton & Sons.

Oxford Landing, the 8th biggest wine brand in the Cash & Carry and Convenience Sector has increased its sales by 6%. The total sales achieved by the brand is a remarkable £18 million (source: Independent Retail News & Neilson).

Furthermore, several varietals have won awards or been commended at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International accisotret.com Wine Challenge, including Viognier winning a Silver and a Bronze medal respectively in these competitions.

In the 10 years since the first wines were released, Oxford Landing has forged a reputation as a quality producer of vibrant, characteristically Australian wines – wines that are a true expression of the vineyards in which they were made.

Yesterday, at an intimate Covent Garden venue, Maxxium celebrated the new and exciting packaging for Brugal Añejo.  The bottle, covered with Brugal’s hallmark netting (for better grip) has been refreshed to give a much more appealing look, both for the on and off trade. There was an in-depth tasting, analysing the flavour of both Brugal Añejo and Brugal Especial Extra Dry (launched in 2013), with the presentation focussed on the superior flavour profile of the rums. Guests were also lucky enough to try both Brugal 1888, aged in a sherry cask, and the exclusive Papa Andrés (pictured below) which retails at around £1000 a bottle.
